What Is A Subluxation?

                           Falling               Being Stressed

A vertebral subluxation is a term used to describe the loss of normal position and/ or motion of the spine. This loss of spinal motion creates extra stress and strain on the spinal joints, muscles and ligaments. Vertbral subluxations can eventually impair proper nerve functioning and the overall health and wellness of the individual. There are three main causes of vertebral subluxations. Physical trauma (repetitive motions, car accidents, slips and falls) emotional stress (worrying, fear and negative thoughts) and chemical imbalances (alcohol, drugs, and other toxins) are the cause of vertebral subluxations. Pain, tenderness, inflammation, decreased spinal motion, and muscle spasm will eventually follow.

The chiropractor can detect the subluxations in the spine by analyzing your posture, taking diagnostic X- rays, measuring your ability to turn and move
"range of motion", and other neurological tests.
