About Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is used for many conditions. It is used for body relaxation, reducing swelling, breaking down scar tissue, increasing muscle mobilization, enhancing joint and muscle function, and so much more

Massage Therapy is a combination of kneading and stroking to relax and lengthen the muscle tissue. Massage also increases blood and lymph circulation which helps provide nutrients to the muscle tissue and cleanses the body of waste products.

There are many different massage techniques or styles of massage.


 * Swedish is a common technique. Swedish is a system of treatments designed to rejuvenate the body by stimulating circulation in the body.

 * Neuromuscular Technique is a deeper or more intense treatment, allowing us to concentrate specifically on postural realignment as well as any areas that are causing pain or discomfort.

 * Trigger Point Therapy is used to find the trigger points in a taut band of muscle tissue that is painful with compression, and often gives referred pain and tenderness. Working on trigger points can alleviate a lot of different symptoms, such as headaches and referred pain down the arms and legs.

 * Myofascial Release is a form of bodywork that rebalances the body by releasing tension in the fascia. It involves releasing and unwinding the fascia ( connective tissue) that surrounds each muscle and interconnects all of the other internal parts of the body. This connective tissue can store muscle memories of physical trauma. Releasing these restrictions allows us to discharge recurring emotional as well as physical pain. Sessions can include cranial sacral work, stretching techniques, and deep touch.
